COMPULSORY RETIREMENT

6265. SHRI KIRTI VARDHAN SINGH:
Will the PRIME MINISTER be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has given compulsory retirement to some of the IAS and IPS Officers;

(b) if so, the details thereof, cadre-wise; and

(c) the reasons therefor?
ANSWER

(a) to (c) :Yes Madam, one IAS officer Shri M.N. Vijaykumar, IAS (KN:81) has been imposed the penalty of compulsory retirement vide order dated 27.04.15.The penalty of Compulsory Retirement was imposed on Shri M.N. Vijaykumar, IAS (KN:81) on completion of departmental proceeding against the officer as per provisions of AIS (D&A) Rule, 1969.

Further, this department in exercise of the powers conferred under sub-rule 3 of Rule 16 of the All India Services (Death-Cum-Retirement benefits) Rules 1958, has prematurely retired, in public interest, one IAS officer namely Shri K. Narasimha (AGMUT : 1991).

With regard to IPS, the Ministry of Home Affairs has informed that penalty of compulsory retirement has not been imposed on any IPS Officer in last one year. However, the Ministry of Home Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred under sub-rule 3 of Rule 16 of the All India Services (Death-Cum-Retirement benefits) Rules, 1958, in public interest has prematurely retired two IPS officers, namely, Shri Mayank Sheel Chohan, IPS (AGMUT:1998) and Shri Raj Kumar Dewangan, IPS (CH:1992) vide order dated 05.01.2017.

Seventh Pay Commission May Not Lower Retirement Age

New Delhi: The Seventh Pay Commission is not likely to take a major decision of the lowering of the retirement age for central government employees to 58 years old, two years earlier than what the present law requires. Since studies show that Indian people reaching the age of 50 years old tend to suffer from a decline of cognitive and physical abilities. That older employees also find it harder to adapt to modern technology, which is must required to develop the nation. The youth people in country have increased and so the pay panel may want to focus on Youth unemployment as, “More retirees would mean more job openings for the youth.”

Armed forces agree to implement 7th pay commission

The forces argue that the anomalies lower the status and pay parity of forces vis-a-vis their counterparts in the police and civilian administration. New Delhi, September 15: After a week-long difference of opinion over the implement enhanced salaries under the 7th Central Pay Commission pay, the armed forces have heeded the advice of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee (CoSC) Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha has issued directions to all service headquarters asking them to issue orders for implementation of the 7th CPC.
