The Empowered Group of Secretaries that was entrusted with a job to examine the recommendations made by the 7th Pay Commission may be ready with their own recommendations within two months.

There is good reason to cheer for government employees as the Empowered Group of Secretaries that was entrusted with a job to examine the recommendations made by the 7th Pay Commission may be ready with their own recommendations within two months.

The payouts are likely to happen earliest by June and latest by July of this year, reports CNBC-TV18’s Sapna Das quoting government officials.

Moreover, the Group of Secretaries are likely to stick with the 7th Pay Commission’s recommendations on salaries and pension payouts.

The payments will be made in installments and the salary, pension arrears will be cleared first but higher allowances will be prospective, officials to CNBC-TV18.

The FY17 Budget already has provided Rs 65000 crore for the 7 th Pay Commission dues. If required the government may come out with higher numbers in the revised estimates, around the end of the year.

However, once the secretaries finish examining the recommendations, it will go for a fresh cabinet nod. The cabinet announcement will be most likely be made by Finance Minister around June or early July. Money Control

New Delhi: The Seventh Pay Commission is not likely to take a major decision of the lowering of the retirement age for central government employees to 58 years old, two years earlier than what the present law requires. Since studies show that Indian people reaching the age of 50 years old tend to suffer from a decline of cognitive and physical abilities. That older employees also find it harder to adapt to modern technology, which is must required to develop the nation. Armed forces agree to implement 7th pay commission

The forces argue that the anomalies lower the status and pay parity of forces vis-a-vis their counterparts in the police and civilian administration. New Delhi, September 15: After a week-long difference of opinion over the implement enhanced salaries under the 7th Central Pay Commission pay, the armed forces have heeded the advice of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.
