JKCCTU rejects seventh Pay Commission recommendations

JAMMU, Feb 4: Jammu and Kashmir Co-ordination Committee of Trade Unions held its meeting, presided by Mohamad Maqbool, State president, which was attended by large number of departmental representatives and State level office bearers, today.

The meeting expressed its serious concern over the retrograde and anti-employees recommendation of seventh Pay Commission which cannot be accepted neither by Central Government nor the State Government employees. The Pay Commission recommendations have been framed as per the guide lines of World Bank and in pursuance of neo-liberal agenda of Central Government. The Commission had recommended to pursue the policy of contract and causal system more vigorously, further job cut by 30% of the vacant posts besides abolishing of most of the allowances.

They discussed that there is only 14.2% wage increase which is almost equal to one and half installment of DA. In this current situation where Central and State Governments have miserably failed to recommend any edequate wage and regularization policy for casual and contract employees besides ignoring the need base minimum wage of Rs 18000 per month as suggested by Trade Unions.
The Central Government Employees Confederation and All India State Government Employees Federation while rejecting the recommendation have decided to launch struggle to force the Government of India to change the retrograde aspects of the report and has chalked out the programme of action.

JKCCTU has decided to organize the State level convention on February, 10th, 2016 at Jammu to announce the programme of further action.

The meeting was attended by Gurmeet Singh, Mohamad Sr, Ram Kumar Sharma, Surneder Kumar, Arvinder Singh, Thodu Ram, Dharam Pal, Jagu Ram, Yash Pal, Rushsanaji and others.
